According to Wiki (2017), drug testing is practically an examination of urine, hair, semen, sweat and other bodily and oral fluids. It is done in conformation with different standards, criteria and guidelines. Its platform holds an unyielding and firm stand on battling with the misuse of drugs. Also, its parameters are laid down by the Dangerous Acts of 2012. For several years, people from different health and authoritarian organizations have been looking for means in straightening out and finding a solution to the said communal nuisance.

Originally, drugs were highly beneficial and appropriate for the common good. For so long, many people tried using different kinds of drugs. Some used drugs for significant life-preservation purposes but some used them for unlawful and extremely detrimental motives. As the innovation on technology rapidly extended, the number of people who became more exposed to illegal drugs defiantly escalated as well. No one in the administration and all throughout the nation would really want the matter to remain for an extensive period of time until it leads to an even more graving ordeal. It has reached the youth and the distressing concern caused specialists of distinct competencies to commence already with a strategy of securing a way out. Soon enough, the point at issue resulted to the formation of the Random Drug Testing. Now, let us all look beyond and know more to what really Random Drug Testing is and why it is reasonable to give approval to its advocacy.

Random Drug Testing is also known as Order No. 40. Last August 8, Education Secretary Leonor Briones signed the Order and stated its chief aims of being implemented for prevention and rehabilitation. The test will be conducted for the fundamental reason of identifying who are drug users among students. The activities that are said to be done will stay classified and confidential between the participants and the permitted workforce. Based on the response that was obtained by CNN Philippines from the order, those students who will be identified positive after taking the test shall immediately be given proper intervention. Before putting it into effect, a conference among teachers and parents shall be supervised first for awareness and preparation. If the parents would not take part in the convention, it will not mean any of their children’s exclusion to the drug testing. For the students, they are bound to be given orientation beforehand or in advance. In the upcoming school year 2018-2019, the program will come to be mandatory for all Higher Education Institutions.

As conclusion, others might not see the necessity of engaging with the program for reasons like the loss of dignity and invasion of privacy, but the things that are at stake needs the greatest consideration in times of contemplation. There is nothing wrong with the order especially when all of the processes that were formulated to transpire guarantees more advantage than the other way around for the students. From one generation to another, students are envisioned to change and bring redemption to the world. Deem to think of the act of putting an end to students who illegally using drugs, not by killing them but by reaching out to them, restoring or nurturing again their inner individualism and so much more. This is truly one great step of eliminating the proliferating quantity of drugs in our nation. By the end of it all, may teenage students be awakened and further join the resistance of saying no to drugs and yes to a better life.
